No, do not open the sachets. Each BEfresh packet is designed to work sealed. The breathable Tyvek material allows it to absorb ethylene gas while keeping the contents safely contained.

Each BEfresh packet is effective for up to 90 days, depending on how much produce you're storing. Because the packet doesn’t visibly change, it’s easy to forget when it’s time to replace it. But don’t worry, if you provide your email during purchase or sign up on our website, we’ll send you friendly reminder emails when it’s time to change your packets. That way, you’ll never have to guess!

Once the packet has reached the end of its life (around 90 days), you can simply discard it in regular household trash. The contents are non-toxic and environmentally safe, but the packet itself is not currently recyclable.
